VM - Scoliosis and Back Pain Gugi Decher, LMT

Patient Age / Gender

Female, 50 years old

Patient Symptoms

Spontaneous scoliosis at age 27. She came in for back pain, was referred by her RPT. Scoliosis was considered untreatable; pain relief for back was good.

Evaluation / Treatment

General Listening pulled toward left hip/posterior aspect. Tissues in this area were flattened, immobile, restricted. Patient couldn’t remember any injury here until later, when she recalled a serious fall at age 20. Once she remembered, tissues began releasing. We used connective tissue massage for the posterior hip, and Visceral Manipulation around the left psoas and sigmoid.

Outcome

After three sessions, back pain had decreased. Spine could lay straight while NWB. Patient reported feeling taller.
